- Check you have all the driving documents you need for the driver/s. Nearly all car hire companies only need your plastic driving license but it may be worth taking your paper document just in case.
- Try to get your Euros before you get to the airport. The rates are not so competitive once you are in the departure lounge with your boarding pass! Shop around before you go. Try the Post Office for a good deal!
- Are you taking a mobile phone? Do you know about ICE? In Case of Emergency! It has become very accepted to put the details of your next of kin into your phone under ICE (followed by a name) and then a contact number in the UK.
- Don't forget, when calling the UK from Spain, you will need to add 0044 then omit the zero from the start of the UK number. Also, if you want to call a Spanish number whilst in Spain, you need to use 0034 in the same way.
- Travel Insurance is offered to you by airlines and anybody you speak to about your holiday! Have a look on line at family cover or annual cover if you intend travelling abroad a few times in one year. Travel Insurance has become very competitive and rates have come down. However, check the policy, some of the cheaper insurance cover is because the actual cover itself is minimal!
- Make sure you have directions of where you are heading to, a contact number for the property owner, your flight confirmation details or tickets, driving documents, passports, money and sun tan lotion!
