Costa Blanca
Airports: Alicante and Valencia
Valencia's southern province is Alicante (Alacant), a wonderfully varied area with historic towns, fertile land and some very impressive mountain scenery. It is best known or its coastline, the Costa Blanca (White Coast). The Costa Blanca is a paradise for Europeans looking for sand, sea and sun.
Benidorm has great beaches flanked with high rise hotels and apartments. It's full of fun and night life. Denia is one of the nicest cities on this coast with a fishing port and ferryboats to the Balerics (Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza). It is relatively quiet with a good-value parade of fish related restaurants along the sea road. A beautiful 22km sandy beach stretches North from here towards Oliva. Between Benidorm and Denia are three popular coastal towns, Calpe (Calp) and Moraira, both dominated by the massive rocky outcrop known as the Penen d'Ifach, and Altea which is more of a village near the sea. Alicante is a great beach city and is famous for its white sandy beaches, palm-lined Ramblas, a magnificent historic castle and of course, one of the Spanish coast's busiest airports!
